Fauxcialite Website Launches
The website hosting all the lovely spinning photos from the initial party has now launched. Check it out http://fauxcialite.com/
I think there is something nice watching peoples poses change both over time, and in rotation. I typically describe the system as creating Matrix style images, but this is not entirely accurate. In the matrix the photo system captures images at the exact same time, creating a seamless rotation without movement. In the spinner, the subject moves, and time is implicit in the experience.
There seems to be a correlation between a product and rotary images, such as these. Something about mousing over and seeing the subject react by moving in rotation is pleasurable. However, it also reminds me of all those web stores where you can grab and rotate the product before buying.
I’m looking forward to taking this website to the next level. First up is being able to scrub back and forth through the images - pausing where ever you like.
